Set Up Your Aircraft for the MRP Farm in Ace Combat 8

Fly the F-15C. Set the 4AAM as your first SP weapon (SP1) and the SASM as your second (SP2). Any aircraft that can carry both works, since you need both to finish quickly. Give all three of your wingmen the EA-18G. It is an electronic warfare aircraft with ESM and ECM. When you fight inside its ESM range, your missiles hit more often, which makes the drones easier to destroy.

Both aircraft must be unlocked first. The F-15C costs 240,000 MRP for the first copy and 30,000 for later ones, and the EA-18G costs 350,000 MRP in the Aircraft Tree. Play on Ace difficulty, which has the highest score multiplier. It unlocks after you finish the campaign on Elite.

Skip the Opening

The mission starts with intro dialogue, and you don't have to do anything. After the data link is taken over and the cutscene starts, hold the Start button to skip it.

Find the Container Ships

In Mission 16 of Ace Combat 8, fly to the right side of the map at full throttle, where the unknown ships are. The ships appear in one of two layouts. In the first area, look for the red ship with the sun logo. It is the only one with that logo, so it is your target. Then go to the second area, where another ship waits, and destroy it.

The three ships form a triangle, and the third ship sits in the last corner. If you can't find it, watch your radar. After the third ship launches the drones, it becomes a real target when you are close. Destroy it. If the ships are in the second layout, check the mission map for their spots.

Destroy the Drones

Switch between your SP weapons and your regular missiles. The drones in Ace Combat 8 don't maneuver much until they reach the base of the space elevator. Get behind them and fire everything you have. Order your wingmen to attack and use their SP weapons. When you stay inside their ESM range, your chance to hit goes up. Near the end, hold Start to skip one more cutscene.

A confirmed kill on an enemy ace is worth around 2,000 points. Some players report that the ace spawns directly behind you when the drones launch, and that its position follows the direction you face. The drones stay your main target.

Retry the Mission and Repeat

When the mission ends, select Retry Mission. Your MRP keeps stacking after each retry in Ace Combat 8. A run on Ace difficulty with no damage and the time bonuses can pay about 90,000 MRP.

The game also gives a 5,000 point bonus for taking no damage. Repeat the run to unlock late-game aircraft and anything missing from the Aircraft Tree. This helps most if you struggle with the later missions.

When to Farm Mission 28 Instead

Mission 16 is the fastest way to earn MRP alone in Ace Combat 8. If you also need aircraft kills or other combat milestones, farm Mission 28, "A Thousand Points of Light." It has many aircraft to destroy, and you can rearm at the Cima Island airstrip. Once MRP is all you need, switch back to Mission 16.
