Season 4 introduces Angela, a high-mobility vanguard built to counter aerial threats and shake up team compositions.

Finally, Marvel Rivals has revealed a new hero for Season 4, and this one is sure to get people excited. Angela, the new fan favorite muscle mommy, will be joining the team next week as the first flying force in the game. Next month, Daredevil will return for a 4.5th season, but for now, all eyes are on Angela, and for good reason.

Angela is different from many of the other duelists on the team because she can stay in the air for a long time and use tanks. Her gear is meant to give frontline players what they’ve been missing—a way to deal with enemies in the air while also controlling the crowd and helping the team.

Angela starts the fight with 600 HP, the same as her brother Thor, plus an extra 300-point shield. The spear, her main weapon, are made of living liquid metal and can change into spears, shields, or axes based on her skills. She also has a passive free-flight mode that boosts her attack meter faster than Storm’s does while she’s in the air. When she’s full, her close combat attacks do a lot of damage or throw enemies into the air.

Her skills stress both anger and usefulness. Angela is great at breaking up enemy formations because she can change into a shield that stops incoming fire, use a high-mobility capture move that looks like Wolverine’s Feral Leap (but has shorter cooldowns), and pin or even drag multiple enemies off the map. Her E ability changes her spear into axes, making a damaging zone that gives her and close allies extra health. This makes her a great attacker and team supporter.

Another powerful move is Angela’s ultimate. She throws her spear at foes, tying them down with glowing ribbons before diving in for a huge AoE slam. The spear also creates a healing zone that makes it easier for her whole team to stay alive. When used with heroes’ ultimate abilities, like Thor’s, it can wipe out whole enemy groups in coordinated plays.

From the outside, Angela seems very strong, maybe even overtuned. But that could change before her public launch. Blade, for example, was brought down a lot from his early show, and Angela could see the same changes. Even so, the idea of a flying tank is very exciting, and many players can’t wait to play as her in Season 4.

Season 4 will have a lot of new skins, game types, and balance changes besides Angela. The meta is about to get really messy because Marvel Rivals is putting more emphasis on different hero styles. Angela is turning out to be one of the most dynamic heroes yet. She can dive enemy supports, peel for her friends, or carry enemies off the map.
