The best games for Xbox One that are, to this date, very much worth your time.

It’s been almost three years since gamers moved to next-gen consoles, but even today, both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are still relevant. They are budget-friendly options for home consoles, and both of these still receive support and new releases.

Additionally, players can still use them for streaming apps or to browse the web. In other words, if you wish to play online, you can still do that on Xbox One. Here, we will talk about the best games for Xbox One that are, to this date, very much worth your time.

GTA Online

Currently, there is a lot of hype and anticipation for the new GTA VI, and this sequel will have big shoes to fill. It’s been ten years since GTA V was released, and the title continues to receive support to this day. There have been multiple DLCs and updates since 2013, when GTA V first dropped:

  • Heists
  • The Contract
  • Diamond Casino Heist
  • Smuggler’s Run
  • Afterhours
  • Further Adventures in Finance and Felony
  • Import/Export
  • Gunrunning
  • Bikers

It’s almost impossible to see a AAA title that can maintain an active player base for so long unless it’s an MMO RPG. Even if you start now, you won’t be disappointed. There are so many things to do in GTA online, and there are tons of guides you can read to get started. So, it’s difficult to argue that GTA doesn’t deserve to be on the best Xbox One games list.

It Takes Two

One of the main appeals of home consoles back in the day was multi-player mode. Sure, now, with online play, you are always interacting with other people, but many miss the days of cooperative split-screen play.

This is one of the main reasons It Takes Two has received such high praise and why it tops the list of the best split-screen Xbox One games. You need to play it with your friends or your loved ones to enjoy it fully, and if you invite another player, they automatically get a copy of It Takes Two on their account.

A Way Out

The writer-director of It Take Two, Josef Fares, also made A Way Out, which is another collaborative multi-player game. So, if you like it or liked It Takes Two, then definitely go back to this older title. The theme isn’t the same, but it’s still an amazing story and a great 2-player experience.

Street Fighter 6

Now, let’s focus our attention on one of the more recent releases, Street Fighter 6. It’s really difficult to create a successful fighting game that caters to both pro players but still invites casuals. Luckily, Street Fighter 6 knocked it out of the park in this department. It’s one of the best multiplayer games for Xbox One, whether you want to play it on the couch with a friend or against other people online. It even has an interesting story mode where you create your fighter, but that’s hardly why anyone is impressed by this release.

There is a new mechanic, “The Drive Meter,” and it really adds depth to the whole fight. You can dish out incredible damage and combos if you use it, but you definitely don’t want to deplete this research fast. You also have a setting for controls that allows you to execute complex combos with just a few presses of a button, but it will decrease your available move pool. Still, definitely use this feature if you are new, as learning complex combo moves will take time.

The Witcher 3

Many consider The Witcher 3 to be the game of the decade (2010-2020). It did so many things right and managed to cater to a wide player base. It has a great story and gripping narrative, a decent number of customization options, solid itemization, and very satisfying combat mechanics.

You can have multiple playthroughs that would feel different, and you get to see different outcomes to certain quests, see new variations in endings, and even uncover more secrets. There were also 2 DLCs, and both were amazing side stories. Much like with GTA V, despite the release date, The Witcher 3 has a lot to offer, and it easily outshines some of the more recent AAA releases.
