Here's a quick guide for Groot in Marvel Rivals.
Groot is a Vanguard who excels at controlling the battlefield and protecting his team. Instead of just depending on durability, Groot uses his walls and crowd control abilities to divide enemy teams, block important routes, and set up good fights. Good Groot players play to create space and control objectives, not to chase kills.
Take Control of the Battlefield
Groot’s walls are his signature. Use them to cut down sightlines for your enemies, to separate key targets from their support or to shield your Strategists from incoming fire. Walls in tight corridors and objective areas can completely disrupt an enemy push. Be careful not to just put them anywhere, badly placed walls can also hinder your team’s mobility and attacks.
Lead from the Front
As a Vanguard, Groot is responsible for leading the charge on objectives and absorbing pressure for his team. Place yourself in front of your Duelists and Strategists; this will force enemies to face you before they can enter the backline. But don't get too far ahead of yourself. Without support, even Groot can be overwhelmed.

Play To Your Strengths
Groot’s powers are suited to control the movement of the enemy. Time your crowd-control tools to disrupt aggressive pushes or to trap opponents in unfavorable positions. Using these abilities with your team’s damage dealers can often lead to easy kills and puts your team in control of the fight.
Protect Your Team Mates
One of Groot’s greatest strengths is his ability to protect weaker allies. If enemy flankers dive your Strategists, use your walls and positioning to block them off, allowing your teammates time to escape or fight back. Sometimes it is more valuable to keep your supports alive than to go for an elimination.
Use Your Ultimate In Team Fights
The more enemies that are grouped together around an objective, the better Groot’s ultimate works. Use against opponents who are committed to the fight, and your team can follow up with damage while opponents are trapped or displaced. If you use it too early it gives your opponents enough time to spread out or disengage.

Concluding Advice
Groot's real power is battlefield control, but lots of new Groot players only care about soaking damage. Place your walls well, block allies and always think about how your skills can limit enemy movement.
With smart positioning, good wall placement, and good teamwork, Groot becomes one of the strongest Vanguards for controlling objectives and leading successful team fights.
