The representation of female characters in video games, as in other media, is a topic of gender studies research and is examined in the context of sexism in video gaming. According to research, how female characters are shown in games has an impact on players’ perceptions of gender roles, and young boys prefer to play a character of their own gender far more than girls. Female-led games, on average, sell fewer copies than male-led games and have lower marketing costs.
My last blog on Top Video Games Female Character Artworks On The Web has received a heated debate on which female character art was the best. In light of this, I’d like to present my personal top ten video game female characters art. To keep things fair, I limited each franchise to one character.
