Invincible Season 2 trailer teases a sinister twist that sets the stage for the season 3 storyline.

The first trailer for Invincible season 2 Part 2, brings in a major sinister twist that directly sets up the comic’s storyline for season 3. Following the events of the first four episodes of Invincible, Season 2 sparks a sky-high interest and intrigues fans as to which direction Mark Grayson’s story will go next. Prime Video has provided a glimpse with the Invincible Season 2 Part 2 trailer ahead of the popular show’s return on March 14, 2024.

Thanks to the material-rich sources provided by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley, the show’s main goal has been made with an eye trained on the future, setting up a huge universe that will play out over the span of several seasons. With Invincible Season 3 already being confirmed, since then, several clues about which direction the show is going has come to light.

Including season 2 Part 1’s ending as it plays a major role in teasing new characters and story plots, it’s expected that part 2 would continue down the same road, however, footage now has confirmed a major new addition that will be shaping the show’s future.

Introducing a familiar look from the comics during the Part 2 trailer, confirmation of a powerful alternate version of Mark who appears in the trailer in a different costume, sporting black lenses on his goggles and wearing a long cape while Invincible Season 2 sets up Mark’s next outfit. This is not the only one that he will be getting, the suit is instead pulled directly from the comics, as the design of the outfit is unmistakable with the looks of an alternate version of the hero known as sinister Mark.

This alternative character known as Sinister Mark is different from other alternative versions of the hero, with this version shouldering a more tragic backstory, some having killed Debbie Grayson, Mark’s mother, in his detention when he was young like with most tragic heroes such as Batman. However, this dimension is darker and more sinister, leading to Sinister Mark Grayson to become the most powerful being on Earth.

While developing a more sinister taste for human flesh, ineffectively turning this version of Mark Grayson into a cannibal, he is a major character from the comics based on his major role in Angstrom Levy’s master plan.

Sinister Mark’s appearance in Invincible Season 2 Part 2’s trailers is an indication that the show is getting ready for the Invincible War Arc for Season 3. The comics told this war story over the course of several issues as part of Angstom’s plot of revenge against Mark after seemingly killing him, gathering up 16 alternative versions of the hero from across the multiverse, Levy unleashes them upon the targeted dimension, watching as they create chaos and havoc in hopes of drawing out Invincible.

Either way you look at it, the coming episodes are filled with possibility and action packed excitement with some new characters and a new direction for the story of Invincible.
