Here’s your Hogwarts Legacy guide for the Wizard’s Field Guide, Accio, Levioso, Reparo, and Hogsmeade.
After your surprise, danger-filled detour, you have finally arrived at Hogwarts and have been sorted into your House. This being your first day at the famed school of wizardry, you have quite a lot to learn.
The Wizard’s Field Guide
The Wizard’s Field Guide is an enchanted book that functions as the game’s menu. Through the use of the book, you will be able to view current tasks, access your inventory, and view maps. Initially, you will only have access to maps of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, but you will have access to a map of the surrounding area later on in the game.
After receiving The Wizard’s Field Guide, follow Professor Weasley’s instructions, and you will then learn about Floo Flames and Field Guide pages. You will then enter the Great Hall and have a quick chat with both Professor Weasley and Professor Fig, and then you can roam around the castle as you please.
Charms class and Accio
You will be able to find the Charms classroom by using the guidance abilities of your Field Guide. Here, you will meet many new characters, including Professor Ronen and the Gryffindor student, Natsui Onai. You will then learn the Accio spell by completing a minigame.
The minigame in question is Summoner’s Court. In this minigame, you will have to summon a ball from the other side of the court and you must release it so it will land in a scoring zone. You will need to ensure that your timing is perfect, as the nearer the scoring zone is to you, the higher the points you earn. Your opponent for this minigame is Natsui Onai.
How well you do isn’t important, as Natsui will prove to be quite a challenging opponent. The main point of the minigame is to teach you how to properly cast the spell, but earning points is a nice bonus.
Once you’ve survived the first round of Summoner’s Court, Professor Ronen will then summon some moving blocks to ramp up the difficulty. An easy way to avoid getting hit by the blocks is to ensure that you have your Accio spell ready when two blocks are in the middle (if you want to hit the scoring zone through the middle) or when two blocks are on one side of the court (if you want to hit the scoring zone through the side.) If your ball hits any of the blocks, it will not count toward your final score.
Once you complete the minigame, you will have a quick chat with Natsui and Professor Ronen, and your first Charms Class is finished.
Defense Against the Dark Arts Class and Levioso
Your next class will be Defense Against the Dark Arts. As you head up, you will see a duel taking place between two students. One of their charm spells goes awry and knocks down a skeleton from the ceiling. Luckily, before anyone gets hurt, Professor Hecat catches it. After diffusing the situation, the professor takes it as an opportunity to go over the basics of the class.
After this, you will learn the levitation spell, Levioso. The professor then explains that Levioso can be used to throw your opponents into the air, stopping them from reflecting their Basic Cast spells. Once everything has been explained, you are thrown into a duel against a Slytherin student, Sebastian Sallow.
This duel is to test how well you understand your combat spells, such as blocking with Protego and using Levioso to catch your opponent off guard. This can be tricky, especially if you haven’t quite gotten a grasp on the combat yet.
You can easily beat Sebastian by successfully casting a full Basic Cast combo after casting Levioso, as this will knock him back. Remember to keep this trick in mind as it can prove to be useful against enemies later in the game. If you speak to Sebastian after your duel, you will learn about a secret Dueling Club.
Your First Assignment and Reparo
After finishing your first two classes, you should speak to Professor Weasley to learn more about additional assignments that the Professors have prepared for you. Professor Weasley would also like you to head into Hogsmeade to get supplies and replace what was destroyed during the dragon attack. The professor also suggests taking a classmate with you. You have the choice between Sebastian and Natsui.
Find Professor Ronen, who wants to teach you the Reparo spell. However, before that, you will have to complete a few tasks first. You will need to find two flying Field Guide pages. One is located near a broken statue opposite where Professor Ronen is standing in the Transfiguration Courtyard. The other page can be found on the first floor of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower.
Speak to Professor Ronen to learn the Accio spell. This spell will allow you to easily grab both of the Field Guide pages. Once both pages have been acquired, it is time to head to Hogsmeade.
Traveling To Hogsmeade
You will now have to meet up with either Sebastian or Natsui near the front gate. Your companion of choice will show you the sights as you make your way to Hogsmeade. They will point out places that may prove useful later on, such as a good spot to find potions, as well as the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. When you finally arrive in Hogsmeade, you now have a chance to explore and get some shopping done.
Certain stores will offer you important items you will need for your journey. These stores are:
- Gerbold Olivanders = Wands
- J. Pippin Potions = Potion Recipes
- The Magic Neep = Seeds
- Tomes and Scrolls = Spellcrafts
If you have linked your Pottermore account, when you go to Olivander’s, your wand will default to the wand you have on Pottermore. This wand can still be edited and changed as much as you want.
After you finish your shopping spree, you will meet up with your companion. However, your reunion is promptly interrupted by a troll attack. Be very wary, as the troll has a large health pool and its attacks deal a large amount of damage. You should avoid its attacks at all costs and use your magic to slowly chip away at its health.
After a while, you will see the prompt to use the spell “Ancient Magic Throw.” This spell will allow you to pick up and throw nearby objects using their magic. This spell will deal decent damage. After the troll has had most of its health depleted, you will then have to use Ancient Magic to vaporize it.
You will then meet up with Officer Ruth Singer, who congratulates you on beating the troll. Singer will then ask for your help with repairing some of the damage that the troll left in its wake. You will have to repair seven nearby objects and buildings. Head over to Gladrags to receive your reward from the proprietor.
You will have to head over to Three Broomsticks, but before you enter, you will discover that Rookwood is working with the leader of the goblin rebellion, Ranrok. Rookwood will attempt to lure you into Three Broomsticks, but he will be forced to leave by two patrons, Ryan and Sirona. After a quick chat with your companion, you will need to fast travel to your dorm to complete the day.
