Continuing after the Hogwarts Legacy intro walkthrough, Professor Fig has left for a trip to the Ministry of Magic, meaning you can continue your student life and take a break from investigating Ancient Magic. This time around, you will be taking classes on Herbology and Potion Making and you will also get a chance to explore the surrounding areas outside of Hogwarts further until an encounter with the Ashwinders.
Herbology Class
Meet the Herbology Professor, Professor Garlick at the Hogwarts Greenhouses. You will begin your class by repotting some Mandrakes. Afterward, she will give you the task of planting Dittany. After speaking to the professor, head to the potting table to grab some Dittany, this will come incredibly handy once you can harvest them as you can use them to make Wiggenweld Potions.
You will meet Leander Prewett, from Gryffindor, the professor will then ask you two to take care of the Chinese Chomping Cabbages in the next greenhouse. These cabbages can be used in combat, so pick up a few and hurl them at the greenhouse practice dummy. These cabbages can pack quite the punch so make a note to grow a few of them later.
Potions Class
Head to the Potions Classroom to meet Professor Sharp, he will teach you how to make and brew potions. As you start the class, the professor will explain to you how to prepare a Wiggenweld Potion, a useful potion to quickly heal injuries. All you have to do is simply follow the on-screen prompts and you’ll learn how to prepare a Wiggenweld Potion. Afterward, Professor Sharp suggests that you learn how to prepare an Edurus Potion. You will have to head to his office but first, you will be interrupted by Garreth Weasley
Garreth will ask you to steal some ingredients from Professor Sharp’s office to help him make a potion he’s been working on. If you do decide to help him out, you just have to snatch a few extra ingredients when getting ingredients for the Edurus Potion. Once you have your ingredients or the extra ones for Garreth, you can now make your Edurus Potion.
Garreth’s potion will set off some blue sparks, disrupting the class and getting the professor’s attention. You can confess to helping Weasley after class and you’ll be reprimanded by Professor Sharp for causing chaos in class.
Go to Lower Hogsfield to meet Natsui
Head to Lower Hogsfield to meet up with Natsui Onai, she will reveal to you her plan to investigate Rookwood. Here you have the chance to tell her about the events that happened at Gringotts Vault.
Once you’ve wrapped up your conversation with Natsui, you can head further into Hogsfield. You will eventually come across a group of dark wizards threatening a woman. These turn out to be no regular dark wizards but turn out to be Ashwinders, who are working for Rookwood and you are the person they are looking for.
Once you’ve beaten a few Ashwinders, Ashwinder duelists will appear. You will need to be careful as the duelist will cast unlockable spells that need to be avoided rather than blocked like regular magic. When you are about to be hit with an unblockable spell, a red warning will appear above your head.
When the Ashwinders are defeated, the woman they were threatening will explain that she is a Witch known as Nora Treadwell. She goes on to explain that she was investigating the Merlin Trials and will explain to you how to activate them.
To complete these trials, you will need to use Incendio to light pillars. You will need to be quick as they will sinker further and further into the ground and rest if you take too long. Once you’ve completed the trial, Nora thanks you and tells you to complete the other trials in the area.
