Developer Vanilaware’s real-time strategy/adventure epic game 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is coming to PS4 on 8th September. When the game was released in Japan in November last year it flooded with critical acclaim. Finally, Publisher Atlus announced the release date. Which was something Director George Kamitani had been waiting for long enough.

Yamamoto calls this a new challenge in the long-running collaboration between Vanillaware and Atlus. The studio took this challenge wholeheartedly and completed the development in six long years.

Yamamoto remembered that the project was a New Year card Vanillaware sent to industry friends in January 2013. Before the official announcement, Vanillaware revealed its first project. After the original tease fans will be able to finally get their hands on Kamitani’s latest making seven years later. 13 Sentinels is gorgeous and Vanillaware is best known for its stunning 2D art. Yamamoto mentioned that Vanillaware is heavily inspired by Western drama series.

The game is about 13 lead characters with a uniquely Japanese setting. Characters will all go to the same school, their different characteristics and backgrounds will let players have different types of storytelling. The story will change radically which will be depended on the episode.

Subtitles will include English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. The western version of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will be voiced in English. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will be launched on 8th September on PlayStation 4.
