A New Tekken May Be On The Way As a Teaser Was Shown at EVO 2022

Get Ready for the Return of Tekken.

A very brief teaser for the next entry in the incredibly popular Tekken series was shown during EVO 2022. The clip shows footage of the very first entry in the series and the original Kazuya ending where he throws his Father, Heihachi, off a cliff, one of the more iconic endings in the franchise. However, the clip begins to fragment and static until it shifts to show an older, red-eyed Kazuya with the phrase ‘Get Ready’ appearing beside him.

The trailer was dropped following an announcement that Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 will be getting a free update that includes various battle balance adjustments and more. Check out that video below:

Now, the next Tekken title may still be a way off. We are still in the midst of the TWT 2022 (Tekken World Tour) with the event’s final possibly taking place sometime in early 2023. Until then, players will have to satiate their Tekken cravings with the previous title whilst “Getting Ready” for the next.

It is uncertain whether this new title is a remake of the original game or the highly anticipated sequel. The use of the footage of the original title implies the former, whilst the older, scarred, and red-eyed Kazuya implies the latter and a continuation of the series. Regardless, fans of the series will be awaiting the coming of this next title with bated breath, and hopefully we shall learn more in the coming months.
