The open-world RPG, ANANTA, looking more promising than ever.

After its announcement at the Gamescom on August 24, 2023, ANANTA has been under the radar of RPG fans for a while now. It’s an upcoming free-to-play open-world RPG game developed by Hangzhou-based business Naked Rain in partnership with NetEase Montreal and published by NetEase.

However, a new official gameplay trailer for ANANTA has gained a lot of attention, and we expect the game to be launched in 2025 or 2026. This game has been known for a long time as Project Mugen, but it was renamed ANANTA at the end of November.

It appears that there is some momentum and steam behind the game because it will be coming to PlayStation 5 as a completely free title. We do have some more information on the game, and they have an official website. Pre-registration is open to all. So, we can expect it to be available in 2025.

The ANANTA trailer is vibrant right away. It appeared to be quite interesting for open-world RPG fans, featuring anime versions of GTA V and Marvel’s Spider-Man. The game promises to provide a unique blend of humor, adventure, and mystery. Players will encounter a range of interesting personalities, engage in exciting combat, solve problems, and protect the balance by defeating dangers to mankind, all while enjoying unrivaled freedom to roam and discover Nova City on a quest to understand who they truly are.

The game describes an immersive urban experience in which players can explore the authentic urban setting of Nova City, a realistic cityscape full of opportunities and freedom. Throughout the game, players will encounter adventures, exploration, and other interconnected cities, such as partying at the Sonic Boom Club or visiting the Whalebone.

ANANTA is as thrilling as a Kung Fu film. According to the trailer, the fighting appears to be very detailed and splashy. Aside from missions, players are urged to enjoy city life. ANANTA provides a diverse and fascinating experience, from weekend exploration to making new friends. It will not be long until potential agents can visit Nova City for themselves.

Furthermore, on their official page, they present a diverse range of personalities. Alan is the main character, Taya, who also appears in Alien. They also have various emotes and other features that are demonstrated throughout the game. It is quite exciting to see what this game turns out to be.

Lastly, ANANTA will be free to play and provide live service. It is currently under development for PC, PS5, Android, and iOS. It is being developed in Chinese, English, and Japanese, with plans to add additional languages and localization options. No release date window or monetization plan has been planned yet, as the developers are currently focused on game design and content creation.
