The upcoming Kirby Air Riders showcases Bandai Namco’s brand-new in-house engine — SOL-AVES Engine — promising smoother gameplay, faster performance, and a glimpse into the company’s future development strategy.

The brand-new ” SOL-AVES ” engine from Bandai Namco is the start of a new era in game technology. It will be used for the first time in Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2. The information came out after the Kirby Air Riders Global Test Ride event, where players got to play the highly anticipated game. Some fans were quick to learn more about how it works technically.

Early players discovered that the game runs on a brand-new engine developed by Bandai Namco, according to a report from Go Nintendo. It is said that the company has been working on this technology for years, but until now, not much was known about it. In the past, Bandai Namco has used third-party engines like Unity, Havok, and Unreal Engine. The SOL-AVES engine, on the other hand, is a big step toward freedom and customization.

The demo files for Kirby Air Riders, as well as Bandai Namco’s website and trademark lists, all showed signs of the new engine. This means that the SOL-AVES engine isn’t just a test, but a long-term plan for how the company will build its future projects.

As of now, Kirby Air Riders is the only game that has been totally built using the SOL-AVES engine. If early performance is any indication, Bandai Namco may have hit gold. People said that the demo ran perfectly, with no noticeable frame rate drops or stability problems, even while playing quickly and visually.

Very clean, very quick, very snappy.

Players who tried the demo during the world test ride liked how well it worked and how smooth it was. One early tester said, “The engine is super clean. Everything was quick and smooth, and it looked good all around.”

Even though Kirby Air Riders isn’t the most complex graphically, the SOL-AVES engine’s first use in a game is a big deal because of its fast-paced settings, many on-screen effects, and stable performance. This mix between speed and stability could mean that it could be used in future Nintendo projects or other Bandai Namco series.

SOL-AVES is off to a good start.

In addition to its speed, players also liked how the new system lets them change things and make them look better. From how snappy the user interface is to how fast pages load, the whole experience feels like it was designed to be as smooth as possible. Some of the credit goes to the people who designed the game, but it’s clear that the tech behind it all plays a big part.

Not only did the Kirby Air Riders demo look great, but it also gave away hints of a system that could be used for bigger games in the future. The SOL-AVES engine seems to be designed to be flexible and grow over time, whether you’re playing in an open world or with a lot of other people.

With eyes on November and beyond.

During the demo event weeks before the game’s full release on November 20, 2025, players can get a better look at how powerful the engine is. With this release, Bandai Namco seems to be paving the way for a new generation of games that are driven by their own engines. This will make developers less reliant on outside tools and give them more freedom to be creative.
