PS5 Pro promises sharper visuals and smoother frames as we gear up for the Battlefield 6 release.
Battlefield 6 is just around the corner, and the performance stats are finally here to give fans a clearer idea of what to expect on next-gen consoles. Ripple Effect has shared the numbers, and depending on whether you’re playing on a base PS5, a PS5 Pro, or an Xbox Series X|S console, the experience is going to look a little different depending on your hardware.
On the PS5 Pro, Battlefield 6 will run at 4K with a locked 60 fps in fidelity mode. If you’re more about performance than visuals, there’s also a performance mode that drops the resolution to 1620p but bumps up the frame rate. Ripple Effect didn’t give a concrete number for that mode, only calling it “higher frame rate.” Considering the PS5 and Xbox Series X are hitting between 70 and 110 fps in performance mode, it’s not a stretch to think the Pro could be pushing closer to 120 fps.
Meanwhile, the standard PS5 and Xbox Series X will see the game running at 1440p in fidelity mode and 1280p in performance mode. Frame rates may vary between 70 and 110 fps, averaging somewhere around 85. The Xbox Series S naturally takes a hit in resolution, running at 1080p, but according to Battlefield 6’s technical director Christian Buhl, it still holds a very steady 60 fps. He did admit the team had to make some tweaks to certain levels to achieve that stability, but the result will still keep you happy as an Xbox Series S user.

All this talk about resolutions and frame rates has fans pretty hyped. Having spent a lot of time on the beta, and now with launch only weeks away, we can’t wait to get back to the “battlefield”. Having 4K 60fps on quality mode is already impressive, but the real excitement lies in performance mode, where the resolution is still higher than what the PS5 and Series X manage in their quality modes.
Pair that with the promise of a “higher frame rate,” and it feels like the Pro might deliver the smoothest Battlefield experience yet. Battlefield 6 is almost here, and these performance stats only add to the anticipation. From the reports that we are seeing now, it looks like there’ll be a setup for everyone.
