Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores silently gives the legendary upgrades for the game a workover.

Fans of Horizon Forbidden West have been jumping for joy with Burning Shores’ change in requirements for legendary gear. Launched previously this month, Burning Shores takes Aloy to Los Angeles and the wasteland surrounding it for a new adventure. A feature that had gone overlooked was the gear requirement changes, Horizon Forbidden West had required a small mountain of items for Aloy, the main character to upgrade her legendary gear however, Burning Shores has changed that.

In the Burning Shores DLC, upgrading your legendary weapons and armour has gotten a lot easier as the amount of materials required to upgrade your gear and equipment has been moderately reduced, meaning Aloy won’t have to fight as many Apex machines. In the Horizon Subreddit, a comment made by a Redditor caused the comment sections to blow up with cheers from many long-time fans of the action-adventure series, which began as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2017. It was revealed that players won’t have to face off against terrifying beasts such as the Slitherfang Earthgrinders or the Stormbirds for materials to make high-level items.

These changes would usually go overlooked, however, it makes upgrading gear far less of a hassle as players will no longer have to waste considerable hours of gameplay gathering materials, which most players of Horizon have come to accept as a natural part of the series. The changes that have come with Burning Shores will definitely be appreciated by the players, as they can now spend less time grinding for materials and more time exploring the many beautiful environments found within the DLC.

Hopefully, we will also see these changes made to crafting and materials carried over to the next Horizon game, which was casually confirmed by Guerrilla earlier this week. While we do not have a confirmed release date for Horizon 3, it is most likely that we will not see it in the next couple of years. This hasn’t stopped fans of the series from brimming with excitement to see where Aloy’s journey takes her next and what the next chapter has in store for our red-haired heroine.
