The newest patch introduces playable Abyss access for additional characters, dozens of new equipment pieces, expanded customization options, and a long list of fixes.
Just a few months after its release, Crimson Desert has received what can easily be considered one of its biggest updates so far. The latest patch adds a ton of new content, gameplay improvements, bug fixes, controller tweaks, and quality-of-life changes that touch just about every part of the game.
The biggest addition in the patch is that Una and Damian can now enter the Abyss, opening up more possibilities for players using those characters. The locations of Memory Fragments related to certain rematchable bosses have also been changed to avoid story spoilers. This allows players to experience the new content without inadvertently spoiling later events as they progress.
Some smaller improvements are also included to make the average gameplay smoother.
When you use a bed, your character now rests with their pets, adding a more natural feel to those moments. There’s a new gameplay option setting that allows you to hide both the minimap and status HUD if you want a much cleaner screen for a more immersive experience.
These additional interface options are part of the growing trend to offer players more control over how they experience open-world games. Now you can customize the interface to your tastes, rather than be stuck with a single HUD layout. This sort of thing has been gaining popularity, and this patch is pushing Crimson Desert in that direction even further.

Another cool new addition is the new Hunter Sigil, which, once equipped, allows your bird companions to automatically pick up prey and gather resources that match their specialties. This update gives pets a more practical role in exploration, rather than being purely cosmetic companions.
The update includes one of the biggest equipment expansions. Cliff and Una gain access to 39 new pieces of equipment (including all new boss equipment). The additions include sixteen new armor pieces, three headgear items, and several powerful boss rewards that expand character customization and progression.
Damian also receives a large equipment update with eight new armor pieces added to his available gear. These new items can be found in various ways, including quests, achievements, shops, and many other in-game sources. This gives multiple avenues for players to collect without restricting progression to one activity.
Customization options have also been expanded considerably.
Damian can now wear many of the same outfits previously available only to Cliff, including pieces from the Guardian Outfit, the Dark Marksman Outfit, and the Masked Liberator Outfit. Cliff and Una have also got some extra equipment, including some special sets of armor and resistance-based equipment suitable for various combat situations.
The new equipment also adds several crafting additions. We’ve added 4 brand new carpet crafting recipes that are available in shops, giving you more choices for decorating your space. New recipes have been added for the Lightning Bolt Plate Armor, Scorch Plate Armor, Flame Plate Armor, and Frost Curse Plate Armor, increasing the amount of craftable defensive equipment.
Some cosmetic restrictions have also been removed. Certain disguise outfits that previously could not be dyed now support color customization, and many primary and secondary weapons can finally be recolored as well. These changes provide far more freedom when creating your preferred character appearance.

Several pieces of equipment have also received functional improvements. The Iron Eagle and Phoenix can now equip the Sigil of Valor, increasing their usefulness in combat. Gathering has been adjusted as well, allowing players to obtain three Fireflies when harvesting from a Firefly Colony instead of fewer resources.
There is also a significant boost to solving puzzles. Una can now solve some puzzles with Scattershot, giving new solutions to encounters that previously required a more limited approach. Tweaks like these help to reduce unnecessary restrictions while keeping the intended challenge.
The update includes a long list of gameplay fixes that target issues reported since launch.
Auto-tracking will no longer unexpectedly switch to another quest under certain conditions, making navigation much more reliable. Rowboats have also been fixed so they no longer briefly sink underwater after being used.
Several quest-specific bugs have also been addressed. The wagon involved in the Assac quest will no longer disappear if it is destroyed, while Morren will no longer vanish when combat begins after tracking Min the Miswood Huntsmaster. Another adjustment prevents players from committing crimes with tools during Memory Fragment playbacks without receiving the appropriate penalties.
There has also been work on travel and progression systems. The requirement for a Vision to use the Gate of Advancement teleportation device has been removed as it was unnecessary. Another fix has been made for a separate issue with furniture purchases so that some of the furniture remains in the repurchase menu after repurchasing.
Some quests that had progression issues are now fixed. Dwayne can now properly ride a horse during the Skilled Archery quest, and we have fixed the abnormal contribution increases that occurred in certain situations. The Bleed Bandit's alchemy explosive has also been rebalanced so its durability decreases every time it summons a bomb.

Another quest issue involving Hand of Deliverance has been fixed. If you rescued the injured soldier first, the previous subquest would sometimes fail to complete correctly. Certain spear attacks that activated from unintended positions have also been corrected, improving combat consistency.
Controller improvements remain a major focus of development several months after release.
Since the game's launch, controller support has received repeated updates, and this patch continues refining responsiveness and overall usability. Axiom Force now activates immediately on locked targets during soft lock, making combat feel more reliable in fast-paced encounters.
Character-specific fixes have also been included. Damian can once again use Mining Strike Proficiency while equipping a spear, while Una no longer enters an unintended vertical flight transition when exiting memories. Another bug allowing Counter Stance to be used while carrying a flag has also been removed.
Several combat improvements continue throughout the patch. Characters can no longer be controlled during loading screens when switching between playable characters, preventing unintended behavior. Muskets and pistols can now be fired while sliding, providing more flexibility in combat encounters.
Other combat fixes address smaller but noticeable issues. Performing a Focused Aerial Roll near NPCs will no longer incorrectly count as a crime, while jump attacks from high locations no longer cause brief character freezes. Sliding attacks have also been corrected so they function properly with more equipment combinations, and certain skills will no longer unexpectedly switch back to your primary weapon while using tools.
The update includes numerous additional combat fixes that target smaller character-specific problems as well.
Damian receives several improvements that remove clunky interactions, including a correction for an issue where summoning Blackar while using Axiom Force could disable nearly all controls except movement and jumping.
Several interface improvements help streamline everyday gameplay.

Your inventory now closes automatically after using an elixir, so you won't have to keep managing menus. The character switch interface has also been improved during sections where progression requires Cliff, making those moments easier to understand.
The customization menus are also more user-friendly. Items that can't be dyed are no longer selectable in the dye menu, removing confusion when modifying equipment. The minimap has also been adjusted so only your current tracked quest will be shown along the border of the minimap, to help cut down on unnecessary visual noise while exploring.
More notification fixes improve information tracking across the game. Recoverable Wyvern Egg alerts now display correctly. Trust notifications now display correctly in the notification history. Mouse and keyboard users also receive a fix that ensures furniture tooltips show the correct selected item.
The update is rounded out with a number of stability improvements and technical improvements.
Certain cutscenes no longer experience occasional stuttering, loading times have been improved in situations where they previously became unusually long, and crashes related to opening the map or replaying boss battles have been addressed.
Localization has also received another pass, with numerous translation errors corrected across every supported language. Beyond those listed changes, the developers included many additional minor fixes that further improve stability, performance, and overall quality-of-life throughout the game.
Only a few months after launch, Crimson Desert has already received an unusually steady stream of meaningful updates. Rather than focusing only on bug fixes, these patches continue introducing new equipment, expanded customization, gameplay improvements, and additional systems that noticeably change the overall experience.
If this level of support continues, you can likely expect even more major content updates in the months ahead, with a larger expansion appearing to be a realistic possibility based on the current development pace.
