Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia brings a new system and more regional colors.

Crowns in competition, religions in competition, and civilizations in competition. Spain and Portugal in medieval times provided fertile ground for intrigue and conquest, diplomacy, and compromise. Conflicting ambitions fueled centuries of dramatic history. Players will be able to partake in that story in an altogether new manner in Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia. On May 31, these extensive excursions will be yours to enjoy.

Take a look at the Crusader Kings III: Fate of Iberia announcement trailer.

This flavor pack for Paradox Interactive’s highly acclaimed grand strategic role-playing game features Struggles, a new system that emphasizes the particular historical conditions that characterize places that have historically been hotbeds of strife. In Fate of Iberia, players will get additional tools to cope with the region’s unique circumstances, with competing claims and personal grudges taking center stage amid Medieval Spain’s colorful cultural mix.

Among the features of Crusader Kings III: The Fate of Iberia are the following:

  • A whole new approach for reenacting historical warfare is entirely moddable and adaptable.
  • Decide the Future of Iberia: Choose between conciliation and conquest to unify Spain, or agree to a peaceful distribution of spoils.
  • New material includes two new Legacy tracks (Urbane and Coterie), new Cultural Traditions stressing the Iberian peninsula’s unique historical traits, and new buddy interactions and chessboard duels.
  • New Events: Dynamic historical events, some of which are connected to the war for Iberia, while others bring diversity to all players.
  • New Art: New character graphics like attire, hair, and beard styles inspired by medieval Iberian civilizations, as well as new unit designs and a slew of contemporary art for backdrops, events, and loading.
  • New Music: The Crusader Kings III soundtrack has been expanded.

As is customary with Crusader Kings III updates, Fate of Iberia will include a free upgrade for all Crusader Kings III owners to bring new choices and features for all players. This version consists of a new faction type to challenge your ruler, shared Heads of Faith, vassal contacts for clans, and a new beginning bookmark with intriguing Iberian personalities for the 867 start date.
