In addition to combating the undead, one will have to combat hunger, time, and dwindling resources. One of the only ways to hold back is with lights. Build lights around your settlement to ensure the darkness does not encroach on your people.
With a full day/night cycle, it’s important that the player gets done what they can during the day. For one must prepare for the night when the dead once again rise. Find treasure from either abandoned or currently occupied orc encampments. And then make your way back to the settlement before a horde of undead happens upon you. You are also given control of a singular hero, who can both collect resources and continually level their skills.
While your city in Darfall may survive the first attack by the undead, it may not survive another. Each night, the fight becomes more difficult. Only by adding traps such as pitfalls, spikes, and explosive barrels do you have a chance to dwindle the hordes that continue to sack your walled city.
