Nintendo’s Dragalia Lost Announces That its End is in Sight

With the declaration that the end of its main campaign is in sight, Dragalia Lost begins to wind down for good.

Dragalia Lost is one of Nintendo’s rather popular mobile game series. While perhaps not as prolific as Fire Emblem Heroes, Dragalia Lost has still been a well-developed and profitable mobile gacha game since its release in 2018 and has seen success as Nintendo’s first original mobile game.

However, it seems that Dragalia is finally reaching some narrative closure, and with it comes the end of the game, naturally. In a news post on the game’s website, it was announced that the main campaign will be wrapping up in July of 2022, almost 4 years after its initial release.

The posting has said that the final set of new characters will debut on a banner on March 31st, and afterward, there will be no more new characters. Rerun banners consisting of already debuted units will, however, continue to run until the game officially shuts down.

While perhaps somewhat bittersweet, this is perhaps not the worst fate that could befall Dragalia Lost. Everybody hates to see a property squeezed dry, and all good stories need to come to an end eventually. Though there is no official date for Dragalia’s retirement, it is confirmed that the end will come sometime after the release of the main campaign, and more details will follow.
