Techland has announced that Dying Light: The Beast’s release date and a new gameplay clip will be shown soon.

In 2022, Techland launched the wildly successful sequel to Dying Light. Although it does not follow Kyle Crane’s story, the sequel takes place after the events of the first film. In contrast, the protagonist of Dying Light 2 is Aiden Caldwell, a Pilgrim who travels between settlements to provide supplies.

Although many fans and journalists wished the game’s protagonist had returned, Dying Light 2 was generally well-received. It was originally intended that the character would be included as downloadable content for Dying Light 2. However, they are now preparing to sell the plot as its own game.

On June 6, fans of Dying Light will have a fantastic day. Game developer Techland has announced that Dying Light: The Beast’s release date and a new gameplay clip will be shown soon. Dying Light: The Beast was initially showcased at Gamescom 2024 by Techland.

Moreover, Initial plans called for it to be a DLC pack for the 2022 sequel, Dying Light 2. However, following a leak in 2023, the developers chose to expand the DLC into a complete game, despite its shorter length compared to Dying Light and Dying Light 2.

After the game’s announcement in August 2024, fans couldn’t wait to see more. This confirmed what many had suspected all along: Dying Light’s protagonist, Kyle Crane, would be making a return. At The Game Awards 2024, Techland showed off more of The Beast, but on June 6, Summer Game Fest will reveal the full game and announce its release date.

The creator and presenter of Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighley, released a brief preview of the talk. The announcement added that on Friday, new gameplay and the official release date will be revealed. For PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in the summer of 2025 is when you can expect to see the game released.

According to Techland, the next Dying Light game will be given out for free to everybody who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2. The game’s official price is currently unknown. Since Dying Light: The Beast is set to be released shortly, the Ultimate Edition was unfortunately removed from the catalog on September 30.

Owning the Ultimate Edition grants access to The Beast at no extra cost. This edition includes the Bloody Ties downloadable content, as well as weapon charms, clothing, weapons, more experience, and more. However, the full price of Dying Light 2 will apply to everyone who does not already possess the Ultimate Edition.

Following last year’s reveal of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland revealed an ambitious plan for Dying Light 2. Fans of Dying Light 2 still have a lot to anticipate, as the studio is putting a lot of effort into getting The Beast out later this year.

In addition to the Winter Tales event, the studio has announced a new Halloween event and a major Fall update. Techland has also confirmed that Dying Light 2 updates are in the works. Among these are improvements to the prologue, new weapon classes, free clothing and accessories, support for community maps, and more.
