The FAR universe is expanding its universe through the latest installment, FAR: Changing Tides for all platforms.

Frontier Foundry has announced the launch of FAR: Changing Tides, the next installment in Okomotive’s FAR universe. In this installment, players explore a flooded land on a serene adventure. This post-apocalyptic quest has vibrant music, a painterly graphic style, and an extra verticality with the dive feature that strives to give a remarkable experience for both new and old players alike.

Players assume control of Toe, a lone child commanding a ship between the seas. On his journey through a flooded universe, Toe navigates riddles, drowned cities, and nature’s harsh forces.

“What started as a university project with FAR: Lone Sails has grown into a studio of 10 people, two games and over six years of wonderful memories made at Okomotive. Our development journey for FAR: Changing Tides has ended but we can’t wait to see how our players experience their journey in this wonderful world.” stated Okomotive Lead Designer and Co-Founder Don Schmocker.

Numerous activities and partnerships are unveiled during the campaign to highlight this visually stunning game. Here are some of the highlights, including a Games Done Quick charity broadcast in support of the San Francisco Monterey Bay Aquarium, ArtStation narrated art instruction, and the Soundwaves lo-fi soundtrack.

Chad Young, Senior Director of Publishing and Commercial, said, “Okomotive’s passion for their craft and the incredible experience they have delivered is a perfect example of Foundry’s aim – to help teams make the games we want to see. We gave the studio our support, and their vision has resulted in a game that is both beautiful and emotional. We couldn’t be more proud of them.”

FAR: Changing Tides is now available on PC via Steam and Epic Store, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Visit our gaming news section for additional information on the game.
