Rumors swirl around “Heartbreak,” a survival horror project that could be the long-awaited sequel to Until Dawn, promising immersive storytelling and chilling player choices….
Firesprite, the company behind Horizon Call of the Mountain, is secretly developing a new PlayStation 6 exclusive that’s sparking excitement among horror enthusiasts. Some believe it might be a sequel to the cult classic, while others suggest it may be a survival horror game under development, codenamed “Heartbreak”- a reference to Until Dawn.
For anyone seeking a fresh and thrilling adventure, this enigmatic project is developing into one of the most anticipated PS6 games, as the studio drops hints about immersive storytelling and player options. Watch carefully; this could be the following major event in horror gaming!
Behind the scenes, British video game company Firesprite has been hard at work for quite a long time on a fresh exclusive for the PlayStation 6. From their last major work, Horizon Call of the Mountain, a VR game released in 2023, you may recall them. It turns out, though, that they were cooking not only that; Firesprite has been juggling a number of initiatives simultaneously.
Some clues about their following major game surfaced online recently. Push Square saw a job advertisement that stated Firesprite is seeking a cinematic producer to work with their team in Liverpool. The job ad lists immersion, player choice, storytelling, and atmosphere—all signs that they’re pursuing something quite story-driven, perhaps in the horror genre.
Should it be a survival horror game, rumor has it the new project is codenamed “Heartbreak.” Some people even speculate it may be a follow-up to the widely consumed interactive horror game Until Dawn, published in 2015.

Particularly given that the first was all about making difficult decisions and witnessing many narrative outcomes, the idea of an Until Dawn follow-up is enthusing fans. The new version of Until Dawn didn’t gain much traction; perhaps fans felt they had already seen all the narrative twists in the first iteration. But a whole new sequel with original gameplay and plot modifications could be different.
This is not the only significant news in the horror gaming sphere in recent months. Supermassive Games, the creators of Until Dawn, have also been working on their Dark Pictures Anthology series, which continues to present fresh horror experiences.
Furthermore, the Resident Evil series by Capcom continues to receive remakes and sequels, demonstrating that there is still a great demand for frightening, choice-driven games. Given all of these changes, anyone who loves a good scare on their PlayStation should be watching for Firesprite’s cryptic new project.
