From Sonic the Hedgehog and Ben 10 rumors to the return of The Seven, Epic’s next season is shaping up to be one of Fortnite’s biggest yet.
Some say that Season 2 of Fortnite has been pushed back, but early information suggests that the extra time may be needed for what could be one of the biggest changes to the game so far. Leaks and developer statements point to a season full of teamwork, changes to the game, and a storyline event that ties together different parts of Fortnite’s growing story.
A lot of the excitement for the new season started when players saw the newly revealed Ice King outfit going around the internet. The figure is thought to bring snow to the OG Chapter 1 island, which could set up the start of Season 2. Long-running rumors say that the next season might have a theme based on Norse folklore.
The idea caught on after rumors put out what they said was a plan for Fortnite material that would happen over the course of a year. Many of the earlier statements came true, which made fans more likely to believe the Norse-themed claims. Players have already started to guess what mythology-themed battle pass skins might be available, such as designs based on Fenrir, Ratatoskr, and Heimdall.
Some fans also think that the mythological theme could lead to Kratos’s return, even though he hasn’t been seen in Fortnite in a few years. If the crossover is real, it would be in line with how Fortnite usually does things: they bring back popular partnerships for themed seasons.
At the same time, Epic Games seems to be putting more effort into crossover material in general. The company has said that in the future, Fortnite could have more than 100 game collaborations. That’s about two crossovers every week on average.
Cross-Over could define the new season.
One of the reported additions is a partnership with Sonic the Hedgehog. Players hope that this will include full character outfits instead of just cosmetic items. Some fans are already picturing themed areas like Green Hill Zone showing up on the island, along with game things like medallions that speed up the game and let players collect rings.

Ben 10 may be a part of another long-requested split. Fans think that transformation-based mythic powers could work well with the way Fortnite is already set up, since players can already control NPC-style characters and bosses.
It looks like Cartoon Network properties are a big focus, and material from Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Scooby-Doo may also be on the way. These partnerships would happen at the same time as Fortnite’s new boss and mythic item systems, which could let characters bring new skills to fights.
Crimson Desert, Honkai Star Rail, and Resident Evil Requiem are some of the other games that are said to be coming together soon. There have also been reports about independent games like Guardian Tales, Phantom Blade Zero, and Dave the Diver.
Overwatch and Fortnite are also likely to work together, as Blizzard makes a big update for the hero shooter. Fans are most excited about characters like Winston, Tracer, and Genji, who are said to be among the four classic heroes that could be added as skins to Fortnite.
Not every reported team-up has gone as planned. Fans recently found a link between the horror game Dead by Daylight and the Fortnite campaign, which sparked a lot of talk about a possible crossover. Later, developers said that the link had been there for years and wasn’t proof of a new relationship. However, concept art for crossover skins has been shared online.
Gameplay leaks have also shown what new things might be in the game. These include a grenade that can turn players into bushes and a weapon that is a mix of an SMG and dynamite.

The Icon Series may also grow, with a David Beckham skin allegedly being worked on. However, the celebrity’s ongoing public scandal could delay the skin’s release. Also, streamer IShowSpeed revealed that more Fortnite content is on the way after fans complained about his first in-game emote.
Possible future collaborations could happen at the same time as new entertainment launches. Around the time the movie comes out in June, there will likely be a Supergirl tie-in. In July, there will likely be a Ninjago update that adds characters like Lloyd, Wu, and Nia. It has also been said that He-Man will be in a joint episode of Masters of the Universe.
Along with collaborations, Season 2 could bring long-awaited changes to people’s quality of life. One of the most common issues from the community may finally be taken care of: ranked progress may finally be shared between Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.
“Storyline Builds Toward a Live Event” will also add new Star Wars content to Creative Mode. This could include an improved Mandalorian jetpack, animals, and Endor-inspired cover items.
Fortnite seems to be building up to a big live event from a story point of view. The Dark Voyager character has been gathering Zero Point shards all over the island, which is a sign of a bigger plan involving The Last Reality group.
Players just recently found out that one of The Seven had been caught at Lethal Labs after answering Agent Jones’s crisis call. Through in-game goals, players were able to use a gap to free the character, which made it possible for The Seven to come back.
There are hints all over the island, like Morse code signals from OG bunkers that spell out “Foundation,” that the group’s boss may be coming back soon. A rift that opens up again could tie Fortnite OG’s alternate timeline to the current Battle Royale island.
Epic Games seems to be getting ready for a live event at the end of the season that will connect all of these storylines and lead into Season 2.

Several changes are planned before that happens. There will be a Lantern Fest event on February 19 with new prizes and cosmetics, as well as a Seven-themed update on February 23. There are rumors that Luna Snow and Magik will work together on a Marvel Rivals project for Valentine’s Day.
Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, and Daffy Duck are some other characters from Looney Tunes that might cross over. So are anime partnerships like Solo Leveling and Chainsaw Man, which fans have been waiting for months.
Because of how much content has been rumored for Season 2, even though it has been delayed, it could be one of the most content-heavy seasons in the history of the game, combining mythology, crossovers, and story development into a single update.
