Dave Bautista has often touted himself as ideally suited to star in any adaptation of Gears of War.
Netflix has recently announced that they are working on a Gears of War live-action feature film, followed by an adult animated series. This news comes after Gears of War has been in the Hollywood spotlight for years. Similar to the Halo franchise, directors and producers from various forms have been attempting to create a Gears of War movie for years, so far to no avail.
Netflix now appears to be rather confident that this movie will be well worth the wait. They posted this on Twitter:
Of course, this drew many fans in, but none more so than actor Dave Bautista, who is most well-known to fans as Drax from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He has often spoken out about how he would love to star in a Gears of War adaptation, and recently, he has claimed that he can’t make it any easier. ‘
The small clip shows Dave Bautista suiting up in the classic Gears armour, clearly trying to show off how suitable he is for the role. Of course, only time will tell if this stunt from Bautista will actually bear any fruit and see him cast, one can hope, considering his love for the franchise, it is expected that he would do well in any role he is cast in.
