Ghost of Yōtei Pre-Orders Outselling Its Standard Edition Without Early Access Perks

Dominating PlayStation Pre-Orders, Ghost of Yōtei Gains Praise as a Must-Play Sequel.

Ghost of Yōtei is already making a huge splash before it even launches, topping the PlayStation Store’s pre-order charts worldwide. According to reports, the game has hit number one in major regions like the US and the UK. What’s surprising is that the $80 Deluxe Edition is selling better than the standard $70 version—even though it doesn’t offer early access.

The Deluxe Edition gives players extra in-game items like the Snake Armor Set and a special dye, which add a bit more style to the adventure. Usually, when special editions outsell the base game, it’s because they include early access.

But Ghost of Yōtei doesn’t offer that. Players are still choosing the more expensive version simply because they’re that excited about the game and what it offers. It shows how much fans trust the work Sucker Punch is doing.

Adding to the buzz is Shuhei Yoshida, a respected voice in the PlayStation world, who has once again praised the game. In an interview with Genki Japan, he said Ghost of Yōtei is going to be even better than Ghost of Tsushima. “Having played Ghost of Yōtei at several stages of its development,” Yoshida said, “I can assure you that it will be even better and that Sucker Punch has done it again.”

This isn’t the first time Yoshida has spoken highly of the game, and his opinion matters—especially since Ghost of Tsushima was such a big hit. That game set a high bar with its strong story, beautiful visuals, and intense combat, and for Yoshida to say the new game tops, that has only made fans more excited.

Ghost of Tsushima was loved for many reasons, and hearing that its follow-up might improve on all of them has the PlayStation community buzzing. With strong early sales and glowing praise from industry veterans, Ghost of Yōtei is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest games. Whether players go for the Deluxe Edition or the standard one, it’s clear that Sucker Punch has something special on the way.
