During a unique State of Play event in July 2025, Sucker Punch Productions will present Ghost of Yōtei thoroughly.

The debut of Ghost of Yōtei took place at PlayStation September 2024 State of Play. Exactly three centuries have passed since Tsushima. In April, Sucker Punch announced that Ghost of Yotei, exclusive to PlayStation 5, would launch on October 2, 2025. Given this timeline, we may expect the announcement and release date to be separated by less than a year.

Sucker Punch Productions will showcase Ghost of Yōtei in depth during a special State of Play event in July 2025, making the game a major deal as the studio’s next major entry in its exploration of feudal Japan Ghost of Yōtei is quickly gaining a lot of fans. Following in the footsteps of the venerated Ghost of Tsushima, it is a spiritual successor.

As anticipation rises, July is taking a significant turn. Despite Sucker Punch’s brief appearance at the State of Play on June 4, the developer has promised a unique gameplay showcase for the game next month. There will be a comprehensive look at exploration, combat, and new gameplay aspects in the upcoming presentation, which will be “focused entirely on Ghost of Yōtei,” according to the official PlayStation Blog. During the event, a brief teaser revealed Atsu and her wolf companion, suggesting that they may play significant roles in the upcoming gameplay dive.

Before the game’s October release, fans may get a feel for what to expect from Ghost of Yōtei in the upcoming gameplay deep dive. There has been a lot of sharing of information, but the exhibition claims to have new information. “Even better” than Tsushima, according to former PlayStation CEO Shuhei Yoshida’s recent comment about the game.

According to Sucker Punch, the game will have their largest open world to date. Players will have freedom of choice in the story’s progression thanks to the game’s non-linear nature.

Ghost of Yōtei will be available for pre-order very soon. You may get the Standard version, the Digital Deluxe edition, and the Collector’s Edition exclusively through PlayStation Direct. The PlayStation Store pre-order lists for Ghost of Yōtei shot to the top in the United States, the United Kingdom, and a handful of other countries quite immediately. This demonstrates the level of anticipation for the game.
