A new fan-made version based on confirmed Rockstar details may be our best look at GTA 6’s world so far.
For a long time fans of GTA 6 were trying their best to figure out what GTA 6 is bringing and what the fans of the game might get themselves into, we don’t have much to work with except two official GTA 6 trailer which broke records, but recently a fan-made version of GTA 6 map was revealed and this might be the actual deal.
Thanks to the hard work of the GTA 6 Mapping Project community, we now have what appears to be the most accurate and up-to-date GTA 6 map yet. That’s what we’re going to talk about today.
This new version of the map was made by one of the users, who is a key contributor to the GTA 6 mapping project Discord server. A post in the server’s map design channel states that he created a new, unlabeled map that resembles the GTA V pause menu map. It’s probably the most accurate copy we’ve seen so far.
It is said that this version is the same size and scale as the GTA V map, which people who have been following the leaks and rumors for a while will likely recognize. However, the map goes even further by incorporating confirmed elements from Rick’s Vice City map, as well as new information about Leonida Keys, Hamlet, Port Gellhorn, and Ambrosia.
What’s the main difference? The map only focuses on confirmed Rockstar content. The map doesn’t include speculative geography like the panhandle, which has been a big point of contention in the community. In this way, it is based on facts rather than just theory.

It gives it a familiar look while also giving you a sense of how big this world is going to be. The user said that he only used verified information to make this map and didn’t guess about places or things that weren’t confirmed. That means staying away from places like the Florida panhandle, which has been hotly debated but is still not proven.
The GTA 6 map next to the GTA V map really opens your eyes. That’s a huge difference. The user’s map is significantly larger and covers a greater area than the GTA V map. All signs point to it being true to size, which it is. This is visual proof that GTA 6’s world will be at least twice as big as Los Santos, if not bigger.
This fits with a leak that came out right before the first GTA 6 trailer. A 15-second clip of early build footage of downtown Vice City was leaked. It was allegedly recorded on Aaron Garbut’s phone from his home office computer, who is the art director at Rockstar North. The leaker, who was said to be friends with Garbut’s son, stated that GTA 6’s map is approximately twice the size of GTA V’s. Based on the user’s rendering, this claim seems more and more likely.
Still, not everything is certain, and there is a lot of talk about what might have happened, especially in the Florida panhandle. Some users have suggested that Pensacola, Navarre, Panama City Beach, and Tallahassee may serve as inspiration for areas in Grand Theft Auto 6. However, these are still just rumors, and the mapping team hasn’t added them yet because they lack solid proof.
It’s interesting that a leak from GameRoll’s source surfaced a few weeks ago, stating that the GTA 6 map will be an island and not feature a panhandle. The last names of the game’s main characters, Lucia and Jason, were leaked by the same source months before the second trailer came out, and they turned out to be correct. The community usually pays attention when GameRoll’s source talks.

Currently, we are unsure whether a panhandle exists or not, and it’s unclear whether Rockstar made the map large enough to accommodate it. However, thanks to the user and other mappers, we can already see that GTA 6’s world is going to be vast, featuring numerous new cities, regions, and options.
All things considered, this community-built version gives us the best idea of what to expect from Rockstar’s next big open-world game. Although it’s not official, the map sizes are consistent, and there’s a clear, detailed layout that fans can use to guess, analyze, and plan what will happen next.
