Fans of Hades II eagerly await the release of the upcoming game.

Hades II developer Supergiant Games has announced that the technical test is almost complete, indicating that fans will soon be able to play the game in early access. Supergiant Games recently held the technical test for the game earlier this month, which gave fans a chance to play Hades II.

The test period was different from Early Access, as the players were randomly selected from a pool of gamers who had signed up for the chance to play, unlike other tests, which tend to be available to everyone. Originally announced during The Game Awards 2022, Hades II has been one of the most anticipated indie games since the release of its predecessor.

Much like the first critically acclaimed game, Hades II sees players controlling Melinoe, the daughter of Hades and sister to the first game’s protagonist, Zagreus. Much like the first game, players will dive into the underworld while being aided by various Greek Gods and Goddesses to fight their way through many waves of enemies in a rogue-like fashion.

In a Tweet posted by the official Supergiant Games Twitter account, the Hades II Technical Test will be winding down sometime today. The Tweet consisted of thanks to the many fans who were able to play and help the developers identify issues and other bugs that they might not have been able to spot before.

After the test comes to an end, Hades II will have an Early Access launch after that “relatively soon,” according to the tweet, which is good news for avid fans of the game as they won’t have to wait long to play the anticipated rogue-like. The Early Access game will be available for purchase through the Epic Games Store and Steam storefronts, with this version receiving continual updates before a full v1.0 release.

This means players won’t have to purchase the game a second time if they have opted in for Early Access. However, fans can only obtain the early access version on PC, as it will be sold exclusively through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Following the bits and pieces revealed to players during the Technical Test, in the story of Hades II, Hades, Zagreus, and Persephone have seemingly fallen into the clutches of some sort of plan being conjured up by the Titan, Chronos.

Melinoe, having been raised by the goddess Hecate. Melinoe takes up the reins as the protagonist, as she goes on an adventure to find out the truth as to what happened. While not much has been revealed about the story by the small chunks in the Technical Test, fans have much to look forward to and discover. Fans will also learn more once the game enters Early Access.
