Team Cherry sets September 4 as the launch date, bringing the Metroidvania masterpiece to all platforms and Xbox Game Pass Day One.

Fans of Hollow Knight can finally enjoy their long-awaited release after seven years. Team Cherry has confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on all major platforms starting September 4. Xbox Game Pass users will be able to get the game the same day it comes out.

It’s not just another game drop; it’s the result of a small team’s vision, hard work, and unwavering loyalty to excellence. There are a lot of Metroidvania games out there, but Hollow Knight is still the best. Many years after it came out, it still rules its field, along with big names like Axiom Verge and Metroid.

So, the hopes for Silksong aren’t just high; they’re huge. And for a good reason. Team Cherry has spent the last few years carefully improving their work to make sure that the sequel not only lives up to standards but also breaks them. The development timeframe may appear to be lengthy to those who are not familiar with it, but Team Cherry was never in a hurry.

In contrast to larger companies that work on many projects at once, this small group puts quality over speed. In talks, they made it clear that the delay wasn’t because of problems with development, but because they wanted to make a game that was true to their original vision and not just beautiful. Team Cherry was able to invest in Silksong’s quality because of the success of the first game, Hollow Knight, which sold 15 million copies.

Every hour that went into making the game was spent improving the gameplay, the story, and making sure that fans got an experience that paid tribute to the original while also adding new and exciting things to the world. One interesting thing about this launch is that there will be no review codes given out before the game comes out.

Team Cherry chose to protect their Kickstarter backers by making sure that the first people to play the game are the ones who backed it early. Some people might think this is strange, but it fits perfectly with Team Cherry’s philosophy of putting community and loyalty above business standards.

For fans who have been following the series from the beginning, this is both an exciting and scary time. How will Silksong live up to the huge hopes? Team Cherry has a history of winning, so the answer is probably yes. Years of careful work, a talented small team, and a deep knowledge of what makes the first game so popular with millions of players set the stage for a sequel that might even be more legendary than the first.

Prepare your systems, clear your plans, and get ready to enter the world of Hallownest again. It is hauntingly beautiful and carefully made. When Hollow Knight: Silksong finally comes out on September 4, it will be a modern Metroidvania classic.
