Sailing across the ocean is an urge that few people have. But those that do always thrill when the wind whips past them. In Hydrofoil Generation, one can take to the ocean and become the greatest virtual sailor ever. Take a leisurely trip across the water, or participate in races against other live players. How will you fare with these new challenges?
Stefano Casillo, who began the project, did so after falling in love with the idea of sailing on a catamaran. Having been so amazed after seeing them in action, Casillo wanted to use Hydrofoil Generation to bring that excitement to a new group of people. Players can choose to sail over the ocean’s surface in the 40ft modern foiling monohull Jx40 and the 50ft modern catamaran Jx50.
Each coastline one sees in-game is recreated to the best of the developer’s ability. Compete in 10-player races to see who comes out on top. Whether you want to go online or invite people over for a LAN party, both options are available. In addition to sailing nautical crafts, they can also be customized, allowing one the best chance to win a race.
Hydrofoil Generation will release sometime in early 2023. Wishlist the title on Steam now to stay updated when it officially releases.
