Ember Lab has pushed out Kena: Scars of Kosmora to 2027, giving the next adventure more time to cook. The game was originally scheduled to debut this year for PS5 and PC, with both physical and digital versions planned. Kena: Bridge of Spirits, the new game, is said to be a character-driven linear adventure.
But its setting is expected to be broader and more intricate. Players will be allowed to go off the beaten route, and it will feel like a Zelda-style adventure. The difficulty levels are there to provide a Souls-like challenge, but the easier ones are there to provide a more accessible experience.
Kena is traveling to Kosmora to meet her childhood friend Orfio and to find out her past and future. The island holds four interconnected communities, each governed by a different element; one of these communities was destroyed in a past by an unknown catastrophe.
Dungeons will challenge players with tough battles and grant them transformative prizes that will aid Kena in her journey. The delay gives Ember Lab time to polish the experience, but the most obvious characteristics of the game are the elemental background and the focus on exploration.
