Players who already have a World of Warcraft subscription will not have to pay anything more to have access to World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic has to offer.

Once a strong paladin prince, Arthas Menethil was devoured and corrupted by a mistaken devotion to preserving his people at any cost. Now, as the Lich King, he commands his undead army into battle against the people of Azeroth from atop the ice throne of Icecrown Citadel.

All players with a current membership will be able to download the genuine re-creation of World of Warcraft’s widespread second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King Classic, for no extra cost on September 26. This announcement was made today by Blizzard Entertainment, which said that the armies of the Horde and the Alliance would have another opportunity to put a fitting end to one of World of Warcraft’s most iconic villains beginning on that day.

This expansion will go live on all World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic worlds at three in the afternoon Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), and it will be available worldwide. To face the Lich King, players must undertake a perilous trek over the frozen woods and snowy peaks of the continent of Northrend.

This continent is the most significant geographical mass Blizzard has ever introduced to the game as part of an expansion pack (until World of Warcraft: Dragonflight releases). As they make strenuous progress in their endeavor to infiltrate Icecrown and battle one of the gravest dangers Azeroth has ever faced, they will have the opportunity to see some of the most stunning views and cherished narratives in all of Warcraft.

Players will have the opportunity to test their skills and new abilities in the 13 memorable dungeons added by Wrath of the Lich King. Some of these dungeons include Ahn’Kahet: The Old Kingdom, in which they will face the minions of the Old God Yogg-Saron, and the plague-infested Culling of Stratholme, which recreates the tragic event from Warcraft history that led to the downfall of Prince Arthas.

Those looking for the most difficult challenge can try their hand at any of the nine new raids added with the expansion. These include revamped versions of pre-expansion World of Warcraft content such as Naxxramas, Onyxia’s Lair, and Icecrown Citadel. In this location, the story of the Lich King reaches its dramatic climax.

Players will be able to participate in Joyous Journeys, an event that offers a bonus experience point increase of fifty percent and will continue until the launch of Wrath of the Lich King Classic on September 26. All World of Warcraft users will be able to create one Death Knight character per Classic world before the game’s release.

They will have access to Burning Crusade Classic content, allowing them to advance that character up to level 70 until September 26. In addition, players can buy additional content, such as new cosmetic items and a boost to their character’s level 70 for those who may not yet have a fully leveled character. These optional improvements will be available for purchase in the in-game store.
