Experience a unique trip to Hawaii in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth.

From the legendary Yakuza series, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio just revealed in yesterday’s Like A Dragon Direct that its next entry in the mainline saga, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, will be released on January 26, 2024. The story follows new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga joining forces with the iconic Kazuma Kiryu in a new location, Hawaii.

After the explosive origin story of Ichiban Kasuga in the previous game, he finds himself on a new quest with the help of longtime Yakuza leader Kazuma Kiryu. Together they must embark again on a heartfelt journey of hope, friendship, and betrayal. So, for fans of the series, another masterpiece seems to be heading our way.

The introduction of a new antagonist called Dwight, brought to life by famed Latino actor Danny Trejo, is sure to spice things up for the protagonists. Thanks to its well-rounded returning cast and introduction of new characters, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth promises a one-of-a-kind, turn-based RPG experience.

This new entry continues the controversial move from a fast-paced beat ’em up to a sprawling JRPG with deep turn-based mechanics established in Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Taking the best elements from the genre, such as a rich job system, varied progression systems, and a colorful cast of characters to boo,t RGG Studio blew it out of the park with the drastic change. While some other entries from the developers like the Judgment series continue the action route, it is likely that the turn-based shift in the genre will stay this way.

Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth follows an abnormally close release of another entry in the series, “The Man Who Erased His Name”, which follows the aftermath of Kazuma Kiryu’s life after disappearing from the yakuza. That game, coming on November 8, will also include a demo of January’s upcoming release to get a taste of this new mainline adventure.

What is more surprising is that after an onslaught of high-profile games throughout 2023, 2024 shows no signs of stopping with Persona 3 Reload, GranBlue Fantasy ReLink, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth all releasing in the first quarter of the year. Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth will debut on January 26, 2024, on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
