The classic platforming game Shantae is getting a physical re-release for its unique framework, the Gameboy Color, thankful because of Limited Run Games.

2020 is ending up being a generally excellent year for the clique’s most loved computer game arrangement, Shantae. To begin with, it was declared that the most recent game in the arrangement is going multi-stage, and now it’s been reported that the first game is being re-delivered for the Nintendo Game Boy Color.

Our very first GameBoy Color release is finally here! We're so excited to release a Limited Run of the original Shantae for GameBoy Color. It opens for a four-week pre-order at 10am ET on Friday, September 11 on https://t.co/5Lksol4sqo. @WayForward pic.twitter.com/siSScWidRh

While the Shantae games aren’t also known as some different platformers, similar to the Mario or Sonic series, they do have a dedicated after. The primary game in the arrangement, basically called Shantae, was released for the Game Boy Color in 2002. The game was mainstream enough to generate four spin-offs of differing prominence. What makes this re-release exceptional is that it will be delivered as a physical game for the Game Boy Color.

While most organizations have for a long time ago surrendered delivering games for more established frameworks, rather than deciding to port old games to fresher platforms, there is one organization committed to keeping old equipment alive. That organization is Limited Run Games, and it has some expertise in physical deliveries of non-mainstream games and re-releases of more established games. There will be a four-week pre-order period, and fans who want to get their hands on the game are encouraged to pre-order, as there will be a limited print run. They can also pick up a gorgeous Shantae art book while they’re at it.

For players who want to dig their old Game Boy Color out of the back of the closet, Shantae will be available for pre-order starting at 10 am ET on Friday, September 11th. Shantae is available for Game Boy Color, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
