Luminous Productions, the studio behind Forspoken will be merging with its parent company Square Enix.

It seems that the Forspoken Developer, Luminous Productions will be ending their run as an independent studio and will be merging with Square Enix. This announcement comes a month after the release of their game, Forspoken.

Luminous Productions had the desire to develop AAA games that would mix both cutting-edge technology and wonderful artistry. This would eventually culminate into Forspoken, which had a few glaring issues when it was released on 25 January 2023. Many of these aforementioned issues have yet to be fixed.

Despite having its own set of technical issues, Forspoken was still both a technical and graphical marvel of a game. This was, however, not enough, and Luminous Productions will be merging with their parent company Square Enix on 1 May 2023.

This announcement was made via Luminous Productions’ Twitter. In the statement, the company still promises to bring, new, innovative gaming experiences to players across the globe.” Despite this transition, the company says that there will still be support for Forspoken and that they are currently working on a patch that will, hopefully, mend the game’s technical issues.

Forspoken

Considering that Luminous Productions is still working on a patch for the game’s various bugs and glitches, as well as working on Forspoken’s first major DLC, In Tanta We Trust, is a commendable feat, even with the merger taking place.

So far, Luminous Productions has promised that they will continue to deliver an experience that players won’t soon forget. However, we will see what will happen in the following months after the merger has happened as due to the game’s various issues, Square Enix will most likely not be willing to continue the story of Forspoken. Forspoken is currently available on PC and PlayStation 5.
