From ’90s Nostalgia to hidden Marvel lore, the Trailer is bursting with details and will be loved.
The video for Marvel Cosmic Invasion starts with a lively animated scene that will look familiar to longtime fans right away. It bears a resemblance to the old commercial for Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade’s Revenge, but there’s no evidence of a connection. The line “Are we having fun yet?” in that ad with Wolverine, Spider-Man, Gambit, and Cyclops teased viewers. The playful comparison sets the tone for a surprise that is full of Marvel history.
People who paid close attention may have noticed that the trailer featured minor musical cues throughout, and Dr. Bong even added humorous interjections here and there. These little details bring out the game’s mix of comic book charm and fun memories.
Nova returns with the iconic appearance and a sneak peek at the raw power of Venom.
Nova’s appearance immediately stands out, especially due to his over-the-top mullet, which is a direct copy of his look from the 1990s comics. The video makes fun of the fact that even Superman had the hairstyles of the time.
At the same time, Venom shows how strong he really is by attacking so hard that Eddie Brock can see the symbiote peeling off of him in the middle of the fight. His moves are also influenced by Capcom’s fighting game styles, establishing a clear link to classic games like Marvel vs. Capcom.
One of the most interesting aspects of the game is its numerous references to various Marvel movies. Fans of Marvel vs. Capcom tag-team games will enjoy being able to switch between two heroes, and the gameplay will remind them of 2D beat ’em ups like X-Men and Maximum Carnage. At this point, however, the tone is more reminiscent of Captain America and the Avengers.

There are many Easter eggs hidden in the industrial setting, with signs that talk about Fisk Enterprises and Damage Control. Some people think that another sign, which partly resembles the word “SIN,” may be related to figures or groups like Sin or Silvermane.
A strange tower stands in the background. Its identity hasn’t been proven, but some theories suggest it might be a High Evolutionary fortress on Mount Wundagore or ancient ruins from the Savage Land.
Places where the game will be mentioned.
Some places are not nearly as strange. What fans saw:
New York City, with a counter for the Daily Bugle.
Another well-known Marvel site is the Blue Area of the Moon.
A S.H.I.E.L.D. helicopter with multiple levels that can be reached by walking or possibly a lift system connecting the levels.
A report states that the Negative Zone will also be present, which makes sense since Annihilus is a villain, but it wasn’t shown in the footage.
On a license plate, there is a small detail: 1961. This isn’t a coincidence; it is the year that Timely Comics (later Atlas) changed its name to Marvel Comics, introducing the Fantastic Four and marking the beginning of the Marvel Age.
Another sweet nod comes from Mary Jane Watson. The picture isn’t just a pin-up; it’s a reference to her acting career, promoting Secret Hospital, the made-for-TV soap opera she appeared in during the early 1990s.
