Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Top Gun Expansion Has Finally Got a Release Date

The Top Gun expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator will drop at the end of May prior to Top Gun: Maverick’s release.

Microsoft Flight Simulator offers a unique experience in gaming, and one that players have been indulging in. Top Gun may be the best movie about fighter jets and the experience found within the seat of those incredibly powerful machines. It seemed only right that Asobo Studios and Microsoft would combine the two and create an expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator with its very own Top Gun DLC.

The expansion was announced last June to a slew of fans wondering when the release date would be. Well, the official Xbox Twitter revealed the release date here:

Attention flight simmers! This is your captain speaking

The Top Gun: Maverick experience is taking off 5/25 in Microsoft Flight Simulator! Don't have your own call sign yet? Create one today! https://t.co/HbJBpVgIPD pic.twitter.com/3i7Chp336l

The DLC is arriving on 25th May 2022 to the joy of many fans around the world. The new film Top Gun: Maverick hits cinemas on May 27th. The film was first intended to be released last year, but Paramount Pictures delayed the film’s release due to various setbacks.

Players can create their call sign in preparation for both the DLC and the movie by entering their name and snapping a photo of themselves.

This new experience looks very interesting and is exciting to see if the game can capture the fun, if somewhat ludicrous, antics found in Top Gun.
