Step into the neo-noir world of MindsEye with Build a Rocket Boy’s ambitious new title….

The new game, MindsEye, has a lot going on—new gameplay, narrative elements, and some intriguing features we can’t wait to discuss. Set in a futuristic city known as Red Rock, MindsEye is an action-adventure game coming soon. Players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier discovering his past with the aid of a neural implant termed the MindsEye. The game mixes drones, third-person combat, and hacking tools with cinematic storytelling.

Developed by Build a Rocket Boy—a studio formed by a former Rockstar North head—and released by IO Interactive, the game boasts big semi-open levels, a 15–20 hour narrative campaign, and post-launch content via a mode named Arcadia. This comprises bonus missions, side stories, and a strong PC-exclusive creation tool for custom content. Another potential multiplayer option might follow the launch.

Fundamentally, MindsEye is an action-adventure suspense movie set in a Red Rock futuristic metropolis. You play as Jacob Diaz, a former soldier trying to use a neural implant called the “MindsEye” to assist him in putting together his shattered memories. The game combines cinematic storytelling with third-person combat, drones, robots, and sophisticated technology.

Additionally, a creative mode in which players may create and distribute bespoke content adds much of the replay value. There is surely some significant experience involved, given that the game’s development team consists of seasoned Rockstar North developers recognized for games like GTA and Red Dead Redemption. Interactive, the publisher, draws on their experience with 007’s upcoming title and the Hitman series’ detailed surroundings and systematic gameplay.

Story-wise, Jacob searches for information about his past and ends up working for Silver Corporation, the tech behemoth supporting the MindsEye implant. He finds himself torn between strong people like Marco Silva, the founder of the company, and the mayor of the city, who have their disputes. Flashbacks expose more of Jacob’s past as things spiral, while missions include vehicle chases, shootouts, and drone-based investigation over a vast, semi-open terrain.

Combat seems familiar, but it has cutting-edge twists, such as hacking robots or using a personal drone to scout or stun adversaries. Although the game is not completely open, it provides several mission types and intensity ranges. Post-launch support includes a distinct mode named Arcadia with bonus missions, side narratives, and challenge maps.

Additionally, there is a built-in creation tool on PC that allows users to create and distribute their content without having to code, therefore starting official modding from day one. Another aspect of the experience is a multiplayer mode that could be introduced later. Though all Arcadia creation tools would only be accessible on PC at first, the game is scheduled to debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 10, 2025.
