Minecon – which has been rebranded as Minecraft Live – will occur on the third of October 2020. In a report on the official blog, Mojang’s Sofia Dankis clarified that while the Minecraft Festival has been deferred to 2022, the online occasion Minecraft Live will continue one month from now basically.
Dankis said, “Minecraft Live is the new version of our annual live show, which has had many names such as MINECON Live and MINECON Earth,”. “Why the name change? Would you ask rap superstar and underrated actor Sean Combs a.k.a P. Diddy a.a.k.a Puff Daddy that? No, you would not. “Due to the impact of Covid-19, Mojang Studios has delayed Minecraft Festival until 2022 and will no longer be involved with official community events,” Dankis added. “Until then, we’re going to bring the party directly to your device and we’ve got all of our usual goodies lined up for you! Join us on Minecraft.net/live for updates, mob votes, news, and delightful banter. Oh, and chickens. Lots and lots of chickens.”
The show – which wants to “answer relevant inquiries concerning what the remainder of Mojang Studios have been chipping away at all year” – goes live at 5 pm UK time (6 pm CET, 9 am PT). In related news, the seed for Minecraft’s famous pack.png picture – named “the most notorious picture in Minecraft history” – has finally been discovered, letting all players investigate the world it was taken from.
