Modern Warfare 4 Expected to Lead Call of Duty’s Next Major Era

The developer’s messaging and franchise history have convinced players another Modern Warfare entry is almost certainly coming.

It appears like we might have a new Call of Duty game on the way quite soon, as Infinity Ward has revealed what many fans believe is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. On social media, the heads of Infinity Ward, Mark Grigsby and Jack O'Hara, issued a detailed statement on the studio's future and its next significant project.

This set the gossip mill going. The designers didn't reveal the name of the game, but the language in the statement strongly suggests it's a new Modern Warfare game. “Our next game will be the definitive experience when it comes to immersive and precise combat,” Infinity Ward said in the release, adding that it would push every element “to its limits.”

The corporation also stated it was finally ready to begin providing players with more information after years of development. Everyone in the Call of Duty community immediately got super enthusiastic for the language, especially since Infinity Ward has a habit of making the Modern Warfare games. Many fans anticipate an official unveiling in the next several weeks.

There are even reports online that influencers and artists may already be testing the game in secret sessions ahead of its public release. This is a move that Activision often makes ahead of the release of new Call of Duty games. There is speculation in the industry that it will be shown during the upcoming Xbox demo, while others believe Activision will host its own event to discuss the game.

At least the online chatter surrounding the notion is already picking up steam.

The next Call of Duty game is under a lot of pressure after the mixed reviews of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. There were claims that Black Ops 6 set sales records for the series, but some members of the community didn’t feel the same about its follow-up. Many experts believe that Activision sees Modern Warfare 4 as a great opportunity to get people enthused again and maybe even shatter some series records.
