Square Enix announced today that NEO: The World Ends with You is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in the summer of 2021.

Neo: The World Ends With You, a follow-up to the 2007 Enix Square for the classic Nintendo DS, will launch on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2021, the developer announced today. The role-playing game takes players back to the Shibuya region of Tokyo.

Like the main character Rindo, players will explore the city of Tokyo to unravel “the mysteries behind a dangerous game where they need to be forced to need a part.” Like Rindo, players will once again take part in the Reapers Game, which plays a role in a series of machines that can determine if a player has been cleared of actual existence. The trailer released today mocks the return to the colorful series, take on Shibuya, also as a new character.

The World Ends With You first launched the Nintendo DS a decade ago it was a huge hit and was re-released as an updated version of Nintendo Switch in 2018. It follows a number of youths in Shibuya who are forced to play Reapers ’Game or disappear. As seen inside the trailer game and the battle sequence, the upcoming title showcases 3D environments integrated with manga-style art.
