The mysterious Mass Effect art supposedly held ‘many secrets’, including a message that was decoded and released.

N7 Day has come and gone, and the celebration for one of the most popular gaming franchises of all time, Mass Effect, has passed. Of course, players around the world were hoping for BioWare to provide some more information regarding the future of Mass Effect.

BioWare posted a teaser that was said to contain many hidden details and information for players to pore over. This was posted on BioWare’s official Twitter:

Thank you to all the agents who decoded the footage. Here’s a clean transmission 👀 https://t.co/iADrTHnU6s pic.twitter.com/ALNBNNM05a

The footage shows what could only be described as a new Mass Relay. For people who are in the unknown, the Mass Relays of Mass Effect are this sci-fi franchise’s answer to being able to travel between star systems. This one, however, looks different from the original Mass Relays.

Of course, the most interesting aspect of this footage is the audio. It was decoded quite quickly and revealed the voice of the one and only Ali Hillis returning as Liara T’Soni. Liara states in the message, “How could we miss this? Exactly, the council will be furious, though they should know by now not to underestimate Human defiance.” Liara states more, but many of her vocals are covered by the familiar sounds of the Geth.

Michael Gamble took to BioWare’s official blog to say: “In the nearly 15 years since the release of the first Mass Effect, the reason we still love working on it is the warmth, dedication, and passion in this community. There are some of you who have been with us through everything, we’ve grown together, sacrificed Ashley together (Editor’s note: Or Kaidan Mike! We all make different choices) faced difficulties together… and laughed until our faces were tired… Together! And for those of you who are new to Mass Effect (Thanks Legendary Edition!) Welcome! I can promise you that many years of fun, adventures, and characters you’ll fall in love with are still ahead.”

Gamble went on to further state that: “Regardless of when you joined us, through four games and more expansions, I can say with certainty that we’re in this because of you, and every N7 Day is a wonderful reminder of that. As we look forward, each week is a fun and exciting challenge for the team. We love bringing this universe to life, and although there’s much more we want to share with you, that’ll have to be for another time.“
