Nintendo Seals Court Victory Against Knock-Off ‘Mario Kart’ Tour Company

The company formerly known as MariCar lost its Supreme Court appeal.

An adjudicator has affirmed Nintendo’s court triumph over a go-kart organization that did Mario Kart-themed visits in the city of Tokyo, as reported. Early this, year, MariCar (presently marked as Street Kart) was requested to pay Nintendo $50 million yen ($483,000) for disregarding its IP rights. The organization requested, however, Japan’s Supreme Court excused it, maintaining Nintendo’s previous win.

Nintendo initially sued Mari Mobility, otherwise known as MariCar, in 2017.
