Paper Mario: The Origami King

The origami king will come to Switch next month. Nintendo released a five-minute gameplay video of the Mushroom Kingdom. The deep dive gameplay video also includes the long-awaited return of companions from the combat mechanics. There will be a new nemesis in the town this time with King Olly and His cohorts. The Princess Peach’s castle will be under siege by the evil king Olly.

From the beginning, players will have to find the finishing point of five ribbons stretching across the world. That world will unfold a lot of places that players will have to use in order to defend the evil king Olly. The world includes Mario exploring an autumn-hued mountain, a desert oasis, a ninja-filled mansion, an underground sewer, and even a striking series of locales. All this was revealed by a trailer that Nintendo posted about the upcoming release.

According to the latest trailer, the game series has finally returned to its RPG roots. On Mario’s latest grand adventure, his friends will tag with him such as the historian Professor Toad, Bobby the Bob-omb, and the king’s sister Olivia who aims to destroy her brother’s evil Plans.

There will be secrets that players will have to find and play mini-games to along the way. These mini-games will include fishing, underwater treasure hunting, aerial battling, target shooting, and white water rafting.

The biggest departure from paper Mario games is the new battle system. Nintendo calls it a ring-based battle system. Which allows players to position the enemies strategically and make combat zones. Players can choose various kinds of weapons and take down the enemies. Players will have to fight the spinies, Goombas, and giant office materials. There will also be a rubber band person, a tape dispenser, and a colored pencil set.

Paper Mario: The origami Ling will be launched on Nintendo Switch on 17th July.
