Olija has been announced for a Fall 2020 release on Nintendo Switch and PC.

Olija, the latest game from Skeleton Crew Studio was launching today. It was one of the big surprises of the Developer Direct broadcast this afternoon. Olija has been unavailable for a long time and this has created quite a bit of confusion. But Developer Direct announced that it will be coming soon.

Olija is an action-adventure game centered around a mystical shipwrecked man in the mysterious country of Terraphage. Faraday, the protagonist, discovers a legendary harpoon, with which they plan to escape the country alongside other castaways. Olija told through various cinematic actions and features to create a surprisingly narrative-focused game. A trailer for Olija has been released.

Today Developer Direct ended with a panel saying that the game was now available on Steam and Nintendo Switch. But right now, it’s not available on either platform. Olija doesn’t even pull up a profile on the Switch eShop and the Steam profile lists 2020 as the release window.

The announcement can be false for all we care about. With games including Fall Guys, Shadow Warrior 3, and Serious Sam 4 also featured, Olija’s announcement was an exciting reveal.

We are hoping that the matter of Olija’s release is clarified soon. Whether it means the game comes out or a more accurate release window is announced. Devolver Digital announces that Olija a pixel art indie game from Skeleton Crew is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC.
