Indie game Only Up! has become one of the latest trending video games.

There’s a new sheriff in town, and it’s taking the gaming world by storm. No, we aren’t talking about Street Fighter 6 or Diablo IV – albeit, they’re both doing it also. But we’re talking about a title that has been released a little earlier than the aforementioned. The name of the game is Only Up!, and it’s currently one of the most trending games. But before we head on to why this is the case, don’t you want to know a little bit about the game first?

Only Up! is an indie game that arrived on May 24, 2023, and was developed and published by SC-KR Games. Only Up!’s story takes you through the role of the teenager, Jackie. Who plans on removing himself from the ghetto to explore and obtain knowledge about the world and himself. Inspired by the legendary fairytale – Jack and the Beanstalk, you are tasked with going up as high as you possibly can and trying to get to the very top. And you only have one challenge – don’t fall.

This may sound simple, but it isn’t – far from it. Throughout your adventure, you’ll stumble across an abundance of easy to very complicated obstacles along the way. Whether it’s to jump onto other surfaces or go on elevators and so on, you are encouraged to use patience and intense focus to increase your likelihood of success.

Go through many crazy and heart-racing obstacles to get to the top.

Also, some features can help you out in making the most complicated steps, such as slow motion. For more incentive, you’ll unlock the most intriguing aspects when you reach above the clouds, and there are the likes of Easter Eggs to discover. However, the craziest aspect about this whole thing is that this is no autosave.

Yes, you read that correctly. No matter how far you progress, there is no autosave, no checkpoints, no manual saves, nada. Once you fall, you have to try and hopefully land on an obstacle below so that you don’t fall too far. The last thing you want is to fall and start over. This is more than enough to cause nervousness, mini heart attacks, and devastation if you feel – hours of climbing gone to waste will take a toll on anyone.

The question you’re probably thinking to yourself is – why is a game that straightforward getting so much attention right now? Probably because well-known content creators are playing and streaming the game.

Those such as xQc, Penguinz0, rapper DDG, and world-renowned streamer Adin Ross are playing and loving the game. Furthermore, this has become one of Twitch’s newest and trending games, currently amassing over 16k followers. There is just something about only going through obstacles that’s addictive. Hence, why Only Up! is getting so much notice.

Only Up! is solemnly available on PC. But with the game’s steadily increasing popularity, who knows, it might also make it to consoles. We hope it does. As for now, if any of you PC players are up for the incredibly difficult challenge, it’s available on Steam. Have fun.
