Outriders Is Coming To Google Stadia

People Can Fly’s ambitious sci-fi RPG Outriders will be bought by Square Enix to game streaming service Stadia in 2021.

Outriders is a new take on the true-and-tried looter-shooter that appears to be setting itself with a more serious, rougher tone compared to the genre’s biggest games like Borderlands and Destiny. Google and Square Enix will collaborate on releasing Outriders on Stadia at an unspecified point next year. The upcoming sci-fi RPG shooter from People Can Fly’s Outriders release will debut on both current and next-gen platforms and PC.

Players can choose between one of four customizable classes to fight against other empowered creatures and humans to survive on Planet Enoch in the far future with unique sets of powers. People Can Fly’s game has a lot to prove when it arrives later this year as a new game joining a somewhat crowded space in the industry and a launch title for the Xbox Series X and PS5.

Coming from a well-established developer and being designed as a full game at launch without day-one DLC, Outriders has the potential to be great. The game’s arrival on Stadia should be a boon to Google’s game streaming service, which has been courting support from publishers and developers but still hasn’t earned much appreciation from gamers.

Google also announced several new exclusive ports and titles during today’s Stadia Connect Presentation. Looks like Square Enix isn’t the only publisher bringing big games to the service in the future. With a set of live streams called Outriders, People Can Fly has ramped up promotional efforts for Outriders on its YouTube channels and Twitch.

When the studio goes live again in August, fans can expect more information and gameplay on the game’s Devastator class. Players will just have to bide their time until they can get their hands on the game with Outriders promising anywhere from 25 to 30 hours of gameplay. Outriders will be released in Q4 of 2020 for Xbox Series X, PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One and, in 2021 on Stadia.
