Palworld Devs Have An Emergency Meeting With Epic Games

Amid Palworld’s popularity, developers are addressing connectivity issues following a meeting with Epic Games Team.

Palworld is a recent hit action-adventure survival game, developed by Pocket Pair, Inc. The game is set in an open world populated with creatures simply referred to as “Pals”, where you’ll be battling and capturing Pals, almost as if Ark Survival and Pokémon came together creating a unique world where using these creatures for tasks such as base building, travel, and combat is a way of survival.

Following recent issues, the studio behind Palworld went into an emergency meeting with the Epic Games Store to discuss the recent connectivity issues in the game. With the game having already been a hit on Steam, topping the charts as one of the most played games on the platforms and with the surge in player numbers, players have pointed out connectivity issues that are restricting players from using its multiplayer aspects and functionality.

With less than a day into the game’s release, servers seemingly struggle to keep up with players and the demand in numbers. This situation doesn’t help with the lack of dedicated servers that have been restricted for the Xbox versions of the game, restricting players to only four players on co-op. Pocket Pair went on to point out that the Xbox limitation is keeping the game restricted to four players in co-op, however, Steam’s version of the game instead offers 32 player options for co-op.

The developer of the game went on to say that it was not the decision of the studio to go about it like this and further stated “It’s difficult to negotiate at this time.” Although the game’s popularity had gotten a considerable boost in players, the connectivity issues seem to follow into gaming consoles such as Xbox and PC with the increase of the player base.

Thankfully being addressed by developers following a meeting with Epic Games, in a post to Twitter, Pocketpair confirmed the issues while also confirming a coming patch that will resolve the connectivity issues for Palworld players when “hosting co-op games on the Xbox and PC” and that hopefully, “errors should start to disappear shortly”.

In the end, it will be interesting to see what will come of the rapidly growing game and the popularity of players. The developers are aware and working towards fixing the issues, giving players exactly what they need along with keeping up the game expectations and joining other Xbox Games and PC games in the online world.
