Heisters are totally not happy with what Payday 3 brought to the table, this was not in the plan, they said.

When a game is first released, we could expect some server issues. After all, many people are trying to log in so that they can try the new and exciting game or the follow-up title for the popular series. These problems usually get sorted within a few days or even hours, but in Payday 3’s account, this actually led to bigger problems.

Payday 2 is not a small game by any means. Lots of levels to grind, new weapons to unlock, and an absurd amount of DLC packs to spend your time in. Starbreeze, the developers, finally thought it was time to leave Payday 2 and move on to the next installment. In this way, they could easily freshen things out and let players be freer in terms of their progression. However, they somehow got the memo wrong and ended up having lots of negative reception on Steam from day one.

As we said earlier, the “Day 1” problems of server issues are going to exist, problem arises when the game itself is online only and does not let you create your match and have a progression by yourself. Players must take an online queue to play a round with others. Even if they happen to find a match in the long wait times, they end up only playing with bots. Of course, this leads to confusion and questioning why they did not let players have a match of their own to begin with.

Other problems include server lags and an off-putting progression system. In Payday 2, the way a person would level up would have been determined by how they managed to get off from the heist and how well they did it. In Payday 3’s case, the progression happens by completing mandatory challenges, which can be done without even finishing the heist.

Starbreeze Studios has a lot of things to cover and change if the studio wants to gain back the reputation it craves from Payday 3. Even though they announced no Denuvo support a week before the release date, they found a way to make players angry. The difference between the second and third titles is apparent, and people are quite happy with it, but when it comes to playing, that is where things start to drive people to not continue playing the game.
