A fresh patch for Pentiment, a first-party Xbox Game, is now live and improves frame rate discrepancies.

Pentiment is an adventure RPG set in historical Germany at the beginning of the 16th century, the game will have players following the story of Andres Smaller, an illustrator entangled in a conspiracy involving a series of murders. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, an American developer founded in June 2003 based in Irvine, California.

Pentiment was released for platforms such as Windows, Xbox one, and Xbox Series X|S on November 15, 2022, with later versions released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, back in February 22, 2024.

Fast forwarding to the present day and Pentiment, a first-party Xbox game, has received a new patch to make its framerate on par with that of the PlayStation 5’s version. Being released on the wildly popular PlayStation consoles, fans quickly spotted a higher framerate than the Xbox version was being produced, these details sparked a fire under the Microsoft fan base. Having answered the players’ feedback, Obsidian Entertainment swiftly sent out an update to rectify the upset.

The update now enables up to 120FPS for Xbox Series X, bringing it on par with the PlayStation 5 Version. Pentiment’s update, Patch 1.3, included fixes for the high contrast accessibility option not rendering correctly, enabling the aforementioned 120 frame rate for Xbox Series X, and an updated icon for PS4/5 and Switch versions.

While also updating the Platinum Trophy name for “Historia Tassiae” for PS4/5, and finally an update to the PS4/5 controller graphics. Overall, the game was quickly fixed and players can enjoy the updated results, while looking forward to Avowed, a highly anticipated action-adventure role-playing game that is set in the world of Pillars of Eternity, with so much in store and so much more coming to the gaming world, there’s lots to look forward for fans of the respected consoles, as well as the up-come Summer Games Fest 2024.
