Free access to the latest instalment, Modern Warfare 2 for a whole week.
We know it’s April but, are you one of those that are yet to decide on whether to get the latest instalment in the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 2? Would you like to play the game to see if it’s worth it? Well, Activision has a little surprise for you.
As you may know, Modern Warfare 2 was released on October 28, 2022 and was developed by none other than Infinity Ward. If you recall back to September, the beta was firstly available on September 16-17 to those who had preordered the game on PlayStation platforms, then from September 18-23, it was available to all PlayStation users. Then, it was available for September 22-23 for players who had preordered on all platforms (PlayStation 4|5, Xbox one, Xbox Series X|S and PC), then on September 24-26 it was available to everyone, regardless of if they preordered it or not.
But now, you can play the game again, and it’s free, and it was confirmed by Activision yesterday. You can enjoy the latest instalment for up to a week; April 19-26 to be precise. But there is a catch; you are only granted access to the multiplayer. However, you are given Season 3 content that was released on April 12. During this time, you have access to 10 maps and 12 multiplayer modes.

You are probably wondering on how to download the game to be able to actually reap the benefits. We are here to help you:
- Go to your platform’s store
- Type ‘Modern Warfare 2 free access’ or locate the ‘play free’ button on PC
- A free access trial should be available
- Download and have fun

And don’t worry, you have access to all weapons and their attachments, perks, kill streaks and much more. Plus , you can play with friends who own the game – the more the merrier, right? You have more than ample time to test the waters and rank up, and enjoy the multiplayer’s contents.
If there was a financial reason why you didn’t get the game before, then you might be in luck. Modern Warfare 2 is on sale on all your platform’s stores. Perhaps, this is enough incentive. But, understand that these sales won’t last very long – for example, the Xbox store’s sale will last for only a couple more days. Therefore, be sure to head over to your store and check their expiration dates.
